El Salvador is among the top 10 leaders in renewable energy generation in the region. As can be seen in the following paragraph, around 76% of the total generation has its origins in renewable sources.
A strong bet on renewable energy
El Salvador is progressing to a broader diversification of the energy matrix; this is the result of international tenders for renewable energy supply. As a result, new projects have been developed as of natural gas, photovoltaic energy, and wind- based generation.
